MODERN FARMHOUSE – ENCINO

The modern farmhouse style and its relaxed, welcoming feel appealed to my clients for their newly built family home in Encino. To set the tone, we installed new wide plank chocolate brown oak flooring throughout the residence, with shades of aqua and yellow taking center stage in the living room. Custom drapery in a soft sand color accentuates the tall ceilings, and a bold modern painting draws you into the room. A textured cream colored rug adds dimension and softness to the space. The dining room walls are covered in a chunky grasscloth, with modern art and a contemporary lighting fixture. The large kitchen and adjacent family room are in soothing shades of blue and white, with green accents that bring the outside in. The built-in cabinetry in the family room provides ample display for collectibles, with a cozy sofa, two arm chairs and a rattan chair for TV viewing. The custom white and blue rug is family friendly and cleanable, as are all the fabrics we used throughout the home.
